Delahunty Counter Petition

To:  UMN Law School Community

Acknowledging that Law School students and faculty are not the exclusive parties of interest in the Robert Delahunty hiring decision,

Recognizing that the University of Minnesota is a public institution,

Affirming the value of other stakeholders, including school administrators and staff, alumni, future/potential students, employers, local attorneys, non-local attorneys, citizens of Minnesota, members of the legal community, and members of the University community generally,

Declaring that the Law School should affirm and seek diversity of viewpoint, value academic qualifications, encourage debate, and avoid premature ethical judgment,

We the undersigned oppose the attempt to block Mr. Delahunty's placement as a temporary professor.
