"TOWARDS PUBLIC ACCOUNTABILITY AND DUE INVESTIGATION":
A FORMAL, OPEN APPEAL TO 'JuST'

We, the general public, are requesting the JuST group (Just Seekers of Truth), "representing the 32 original signatories of the Public Petition for Official Investigations of Sathya Sai Baba and His Worldwide Organisation", to explain openly, and publicly, the concerns of impropriety, dishonesty and insincerity against their online petition, located at http://www.saipetition.net. and discussed at http://www.saisathyasai.com/baba/

It is also requested that JuST supply the public with legal documentation that proves that the online petition, located at http://www.saipetition.net, is legal and has ways of verifying the signatures (as is done with any legal petition). Arthur Klein, who wrote the petition, suggests that the petition is legal by writing, "...and who wish the responsible persons be made accountable through proper legal process, to please sign this petition..." and "...This Petition is for the benefit of the general public and will be sent to any relevant authority that may forward the Petition..." Furthermore, Randi Godage and the website administrator, at saipetition.net, have openly declared the petition is legal. Such being the case, the public deserves a right, since the petition is for 'the benefit of the general public", to fully know the integrity and legality of this petition. That JuST, Arthur Klein and website administrators, have, hereto forth, withheld this vital information from the public is of great concern, suggesting impropriety and dishonesty with the public, misleading the public regarding the genuineness of the petition.

VITAL CONCERNS REGARDING SIGNATURE DELETIONS,
ALTERATIONS AND ADDITIONS.

The general public deserves the right to the information regarding signature deletions, alterations and additions made on the petition page at http://www.saipetition.net. Screen captures of the petition shown that from one signature, comments were removed and on 4 other posts, extra information was added, that was not present in the original petition submissions. Since ANY form of alteration to the submissions would violate the Initiative and Referendum laws, JuST must provide the public with an honest and open account, giving reasons for altering original submissions.

Screen captures of the original petition, as compared with the new petition at http://www.saipetition.net, show that 24 signatures were added that have no known origin. These 24 added signatures originate within the sequence of the original petition, yet are not found on the original petition. The general public demands an explanation on these 24 added signatures. The 24 added signatures on http://www.saipetitiont.net, are: Abdallah from Australia; Albutiu Anda from Romania; Alejandro from Argentina; Anish Rathod from the UK; Babu Surati from India; Dan Dumitrescu from Roumania; Debora Lewis Montserrat from France; Diyanat from India; Edwin Reurings from Netherlands; Erika Brioschi from the UK; Evgeni from Russia; Fekre from Egypt; Jeannot from Belgium; Jenny Knol from Netherlands; Lello from Italy; Licia from Italy; Livio from Italy; Nirav from USA; Praveen from India; Ratikant from India; Srimathi from India; Suresh from Australia; Samira from Iran and Xortay from USA.

JuST must also explain to the general public why full names are not required to sign the petition. If JuST claims that the petition is valid and is legal, then the signatures must not be partial. Genuine and legitimate petitions require verifiable full names with a verifiable address. The general public demands that JuST, Arthur Klein and the website administrators at http://www.saipetition.net, provide the public with the crucial and vital information that verifies the signatures as authentic. Failure to do so, as has been the policy so far, highly suggests dishonesty and anti-Sathya Sai Baba propagandizing. If the petition is not legal, the general public demands that JuST divulge this information on their site, clearly stating the petition is not legal on all relevant pages, including the submission page.

JuST petition signatories, have demanded that the Sathya Sai Organization "observe the ethics embodied in the 10 principles and 9-point ‘code of conduct’ and adhere to this advice that all should live in accordance with the law of their own country". The general public asks the same of JuST and asks that the petition abide by the laws in which the petition site is hosted, the United States of America. Consequently, JuST, Arthur Klein and the website administrators at http://www.saipetition.net, abide by the Initiative and Referendum laws that govern genuine petitions and supply the public with legal documentation that verifies the veracity of the petition.

"CONCERNING ALLEGED 'PROPAGANDA CAMPAIGNS'"

JuST has stated that they do not resort to "propaganda" but "ask the great majority of pertinent questions" from people who "ignore and fail to give answers". JuST, as differentiating itself from those who "ignore and fail to give answers" has a moment of truth to explain and give answers to the "majority of pertinent questions" from the general public. Thus far, JuST has been acting contrary to the precept they claim to value and uphold. Thus far, JuST has been "ignoring and failing to give answers". This is inappropriate and the general public demands an explanation of this behavior.

JuST accuses the Sathya Sai Organization of "not replying to emails addressed to them by people with critical questions or complaints", "criticisms that are neither addressed nor refuted, but suppressed" and "when answers are actually forthcoming, they are usually either evasive, irrelevant or direct the questioner to carry out self-examination, etc.". However, JuST, in regards to their online petition, have acted exactly in the same manner, and style, as those to whom they accuse of such behavior. This is, by all means, reprehensible and the general public demands why JuST, Arthur Klein and website administrators fail to live up to the advice they so readily give to others.

"THE NEED FOR OPENNESS AND TRUTHFULNESS"

So far, neither JuST, Arthur Klein or website administrators has been willing, or able, to provide a "shred of evidence to prove the falsity of any of the allegations" made against the online petition. Should JuST, Arthur Klein and the website administrators at SaiPetition.com be reminded of the very advice they gave to the Sathya Sai Organization? Namely, the "civilised and truth-supportive principle enunciated by Voltaire: ‘I may disagree with what you say, but I shall defend, to the death, your right to say it’?" Having pointed this out, the general public formally requests JuST (Just Seekers of Truth), Arthur Klein and the website administrators of http://www.saipetition.net to an "honest and decent, but basically uncensored," public disclosure of issues discussed in this letter.

We, the general public, would like to point out that the "current closed character" of JuST’s signatories and Arthur Klein "wholly contradicts their good intentions and declarations about reforming and improving society" by generating signatures via an online public petition, whose aim is to bring raised public awareness. The words from JuST would indeed be relevant at this time: "In the open and pluralistic world, as opposed to a soviet-style control of all information from the top, organisations without a two-way and sincere interface with the public cannot have notable success in the long term". We would whole-heartedly agree and ask that this indispensable advice be follow, instead of giving it lukewarm lipservice.

The Undersigned
