USF professors have been negotiating with the University of San Francisco for better pay and more benefits.

The professors have been offered a 4\% increase in salary which is BELOW the cost of living increase (COL) in the Bay Area and below the level of inflation within the Bay Area.

COL is about 6.1\% a year and inflation is about 4.8\% a year.

USF Professors have asked the University for an increase equal to the level of inflation (4.8\%) plus an extra 2\% increase because of expected increased inflation levels over the next 3 years.

10 out of the last 11 years, USF has had a net surplus and this past year the University had a $43 million surplus.
