Protect Tony Jackson's famous "Vanburger" Burger Van from eviction.

A popular burger van, which has been operated by Tony Jackson for over seven years, may be forced to close down because of a dispute over ownership of the layby where it sits, on the A26 in South Heighton, near Seaford.

Glynde Estates have made a claim to the land, and have sent Mr. Jackson a letter of eviction from the site. Enquiries at the Land Registry have revealed that there is no known claim on the site.

Lewes Borough Council have confirmed that the 'Vanburger' Burger van was given "a glowing report" by an Environmental Health Officer regarding the preparation, storage, and cleanliness of the food and premises.

We, the Undersigned believe that by contesting ownership of the land, Glynde Estates have put at risk the livelihood of a fine upstanding man, and an excellent service to both the local community and the public who travel along the A26, and we consider their demands to be wholly unfair and unfounded.

We, the Undersigned therefore request that no claim on the land by Glynde Estates should be entertained by Lewes Borough Council or any other authority, that Mr. Jackson should be allowed to continue operating his Burger Van business on this site without interruption nor contention, and that Lewis Borough Council do all in their power to enable this to happen.
