Statewide Petition Against Raising Taxes

To:  Governor Warner

Whereas, Governor Warner, you promised during the campaign "I will not raise taxes;"

Whereas, there are now multiple proposals being considered to raise our taxes;

Whereas, state government can and should live within its budget without increasing the tax burden on Virginians;

Whereas, in Virginia, state spending on government programs has already increased 43% in the last four years;

Therefore, as taxpayers in Virginia, we say enough is enough. Support a responsible budget and stop gouging the taxpayers!
