Re: Virtua Fighter 4 on Dreamcast

Dear Mr. Sato,

We, the undersigned, wish to express our desire to see Mr. Suzuki's Virtua Fighter 4 published for the SEGA Dreamcast system. We understand that the position of the SEGA Corporation is that the title will be published for the Dreamcast system if the demand is high enough.

With this petition, we aim to prove that this demand is high, as each of the undersigned agrees to purchase or consider purchasing the title should you choose to release it on Dreamcast. We believe the undersigned, given the limited exposure of this petition, represents a small but important portion of consumer demand.

At the E3 2001 show in Los Angeles, you explained that the decision to stop publishing for Dreamcast was difficult to make, and that the opportunities as a thirdparty publisher were huge. As SEGA fans and supporters, we respect and agree with this decision, and with great honor cherish the memory of Mr. Isao Okawa, one of the key executives behind this move.

However, we believe the Dreamcast should go out with a bang for those who have so avidly supported and loved it, and in addition to Sonic Adventure 2 and Shenmue II, would like to see Virtua Fighter 4 ported to the system. We believe this title to be important to many SEGA fans and the mass market, given the changes and development Mr. Suzuki has introduced to the title to make its appeal broader.

With the considerable experience of your development team with working on different platforms and converting titles in different and efficient ways, we believe VF4 could be ported to Dreamcast cost-effectively and quickly. The Virtua Fighter franchise can be more effectively capitalized upon with units available not just for PS2, but also for Dreamcast, where you already have many customers familiar with this brand.

We believe Virtua Fighter 4 on Dreamcast will allow Dreamcast owners to part with their system as a market player on memorable terms, as they look towards other systems to continue to support the SEGA Corporation. Virtua Fighter 4 is a title we look forward to and would like very much to purchase on the Dreamcast system.
