Save Frida!

On 11 of June 2005 a lion cub was born in a zoo in Romania...


Radio Total, a broadcast radio station from Romania bought the new born lion cub from the zoo in hope of providing the baby lion a life in the wild, free, instead of one in a cage not much bigger than her. We didn’t know how a 2 weeks old baby lion looks like, we didn’t know what implied taking care of her and , what’s more important, we didn’t know what it would take to reintegrate her in the wild. We knew though that Africa it had to be.





In july 2005 Frida became a simbol of romanian denomination in a campain named Leul Greu ( leu-lion, heavy lion)





To find Frida the right place, we got in touch with Vier Pfoten, a well meaning animal welfare group in Europe, as they had done this before.





On Monday 5th December 2005 Frida was flown out to South Africa to face an uncertain future at the notorious Camorhi Game Lodge in Free State province. The translocation was arranged by Vier Pfoten who pretends that knew nothing about the corrupt state of Nature Conservation in South Africa, and the hostility of the hunter-dominated conservation officials to animal welfare. Had this organisation done its homework it would surely have discovered the following information, which might have persuaded it against such an unwise plan:





1.The Free State is the epicenter of canned lion hunting and Camorhi is susceptible of being a hunting game farm with a dubious involvement in canned lion hunting in the past.


2.Camorhi is owned and run by one Marius Prinsloo, a hunter who is allegedly running a commercial hunting operation,.





This could well be the fate of Frida..





Be a human being and save Frida! Give her dignity and life back! Do not let money rule the world again!
