As of March 8th, 2008, George W. Bush vetoed the U.S. bill that outlawed the act of Waterboarding, a torture technique. It consists of immobilizing a person on their back with the head inclined downward and pouring water over the face and into the breathing passages. Through forced suffocation and water inhalation, the technique simulates drowning. This causes extreme pain, brain damage, and damage to the lungs on most occasions, and may cause injuries such as broken bones from attempting to break free of the restraints. Congress has not yet voted against the veto. Stop this torture today.
