West Bend Citizens for Free Speech Library Petition

We, the undersigned, request that the library board enforce (and if necessary, adopt) policies that protect the library collection from attempts at censorship.

We ask the library board to reject requests that call for materials within the collection to be reclassified or physically moved to a new area on the basis that some members of the community may find them objectionable.

We ask the library board to reject requests to label materials (or use other visual identification of materials) based on sexual content. We believe that library patrons are fully responsible for making their own determinations about what materials are appropriate/inappropriate for themselves and/or their children.
