WKLU-FM, Oldies 101.9, an Indy Radio LLC owned property has generated this petition is an effort to have the John Lennon Imagine license plate sold here in the state of Indiana. Proceeds from the purchase of this plate will serve to benefit food shelters throughout the state of Indiana. Currently, this specialty license plate is being sold in the state of Florida and has raised over $786,000 since October 31, 2008! With hunger being a problem everywhere, this is an opportunity for the citizens of Indianapolis and throughout state of Indiana, to do its part. Through the sustained public interest in The Beatles and John Lennon specifically, this is a great way for fans to have a piece of this legend and help the hungry in the state of Indiana.
By signing this petition you are expressing your desire that the state of Indiana make available the Imagine specialty license plate to automobile owners registered throughout our state with full knowledge that the proceeds benefit food banks/shelters throughout the state. This petition will be submitted to the Bureau of Motor Vehicles and/or the Department of Transportation in our desire to achieve this goal.
