Campus and Community United:
(1) We are students, faculty, religious leaders, and staff committed to spreading awareness about USC's Master Plan while partnering with the community to develop a responsible future for the Figueroa Corridor neighborhood.
(2) We seek a responsible future for both campus and community members through:
-Advocating for Affordable Housing, both in its preservation and creation
-Advocating for Safety while engaging enduring stereotypes about the community
-Advocating for Responsible and Equitable Economic Development
-Advocating for Environmental Sustainability in future neighborhood developments
(3) Furthermore, we value:
-Students and community members having a meaningful say in the process of neighborhood development
-Students and community members connecting through spatial and social gaps, collaborating on projects that push toward a responsible future for the neighborhood
-Win-win solutions, drawn from both innovation and best practices throughout the country, that is at the expense of neither the community nor the campus
-Inclusion and diversity within the coalition, meaningful efforts to ensure a diversity of student groups are involved
-Fostering leadership development and valuing new members and insights to ensure the sustainability of the organization
-Engaging campus members sense of space around the community
We, the undersigned, strongly urge that developments in the neighborhood genuinely incorporate the principles of Campus and Community United for a responsible future.
