Combat Zone Wrestling, based out of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania is a very risky professional wrestling promotion. They base their wrestling around hardcore style death matches, with some great wrestling in between. In 2002 SoCal wrestling promotion XPW took a trip to Philadelphia, and shook things up big time with local promotions. On August 28, 2002 XPW ran their first show in Philly called "Hostile Takeover" which featured a rematch for the deathmatch championship between defending champion, Supreme and the "Hardcore Homo" Angel. The match spilled through out the entire arena. While they were battling, Angel and Supreme battled in the bathroom, and Angel who was a bloody mess at the time, spilled blood on a little girl who, surprisingly had ties with the Philadelphia State Athletic Commission.
Soon after that barbed wire and light tubes were banned in the state Pennsylvania in wrestling matches. This effected Combat Zone Wrestling the most.
Every summer, CZW holds and event called "Tournament of Death". This year will mark the third anniversary of this event. Every year (Excluding 2002) the ban of barbed wire and light tubes has prevented CZW from holding the Tournament of Death in the New Alhambra Center (Aka, ECW Arena, Viking Hall). Most recently CZW was granted permission to hold this years Tournament Of Death in Philadelphia by the State Athletic Commission. Rumors were flying around that the ban was over and the once so called "stale" CZW product can go back to doing what they do best.
On, Thursday, July 21, 2005, CZW announced on CZWrestling.Com that the Philadelphia State Athletic commission have went back on their word, and have prevented this years annual Tournament of Death to take place in Pennsylvania . The PSAC have not only screwed CZW, but the CZW fans as well. CZW even announced a No Rope Barbed wire match for August, but further plans for this match, have been cancelled.
This petition is to get CZW out of Pennsylvania, and get CZW to run back in New Jersey, or Delaware so CZW fans can once again call CZW, the most Ultraviolet Company in the United States today. I want it, the fans want it, and we know that CZW must want it!
