To:  Microsoft

We believe that censoring our words in real time violates a fundamental right we have to freedom of speech as protected in the United States Constitution, and our rights as paying customers. We believe real-time censorship is a very slippery slope which could eventually lead to more and more regulation of the games we purchase, and the entire XBOX Live experience as a whole. As paying cutomers, we must stand up for the service we are purchasing by demanding ethical respect, not only for the consumers, but for the fundament belief that everyone in the United States of America has freedom of speech.

Games like 'Halo' and 'Gears of War' have shown us that the artistic vision is, more often than not, one of the defining factors in what constitutes a brilliant game. As it goes, those games are rated mature for a reason. However, to say simply that it's alright for Microsoft to sell you, the consumer, a game that contains swearing and profanity, but it's not ok for you to swear in online play in that very same game is not only hypocritical, it's unethical.

We the people, demand Microsoft immediatley hault the development and future integration of the "real-time censoring" technology for XBOX Live voice communications.

Sincerely,

The Undersigned
