We, residents of the province of Ontario, the undersigned, hereby oppose to certain aspects of the new young drivers law, heading into legislature on Tuesday, November 18th 2008.
We hereby recognize the efforts of MADD, on the subject of drunk driving. We, therefore, do not oppose in the hereby petition to the new zero-tolerance law on "Driving under the influence" proposed by the Ontario government.
We, however, strongly oppose to the new proposed restrictions to drivers under the age of 19, who currently hold a valid G2 license; these restrictions would forbid any driver under the age of 19, holder of a G2 license for less than a year, to have more than one passenger in the vehicle, at any given time of the day.
We do, however, support the current restriction on young drivers, where they currently cannot have more than one person under the age of 19 in their vehicle, between 12am and 5am, for the first three months of having a valid G2 license.
