To:  Residents of Canada

Why Vote?

Everyone who cares about this country or their future plays a critical role in our Pledge to Vote Campaign. The Y-Vote team invites you to pledge to be "educated voters".

We challenge you to learn more about the issues that affect your world to help you make an educated decision about who to vote for on October 14th, 2008. Whatever your beliefs - Y-Vote wants you to vote. The point is not who you vote for, it's that you make thoughtful choices.

“I am a Canadian, free to speak without fear, free to worship in my own way, free to stand for what I think right, free to oppose what I believe wrong, or free to choose those who shall govern my country. This heritage of freedom I pledge to uphold for myself and all mankind.”
- John G. Diefenbaker (from the Canadian Bill of Rights, 1960)

We are trying to do this... one voter at a time. When you make your pledge, you are making a public commitment that on October 14th, you will go to your polling station and vote.

"I believe in exercising my right to vote,
I am voting for my future,
I am voting for our Country,
I will vote on October 14th."

Sincerely,

The Undersigned
