We the fans of the National Iranian Football Team, Team Melli, express our support and appreciation to Fereydoon Zandi for his desire to play for our national team and to those in the National Team who are working hard to make this a reality. In the great Iranian tradition of enthusiastic affability and acceptance we welcome Fereydoon with open arms and full support as an Iranian and an Iranian National Team player.

Our coaching staff has already determined and repeatedly expressed that based on Fereydoons high level of performance he can be a valuable asset to our National Team.

In consideration of recent injudicious articles and interviews by a handful of individuals in Iranian media and internet postings we saw it as necessary to circulate and publish this memo to represent the stance of the Team Melli fans directly. We do not wish the vocal voice of a few to tarnish the views of tens of millions of true Iranian fans. Iranian fans, those living in Iran or like Fereydoon the millions living outside of Iran have demonstrated in unison that they are among the most loyal, enthusiastic, warm, joyful, and active fans anywhere and for any team; thus ensuring a mutually rewarding experience for Fereydoon and the fans should he join our Team Melli.

Should Fereydoon not decide to join our National Team we respect him, his decision and wish him well in his Football career.
