1 Pardon For Bono

To:  President of the United States

On March 18th, 2004 the FCC cited musician Bono for indecency after he accidentally said the f-word during the the telecast of the Golden Globes Awards Ceremony. If was the first time the FCC cited the word as profane.

Bono has spent a good part of the last ten years raising awareness and money to fight the AIDS epidemic in Africa. His efforts have led to his nomination for the Nobel Peace Prize. Instead of honoring this humanitarian however, your administration has chosen to make Bono an opening target in a cultural war.

The undersigned urge you to grant Bono a Presidential Pardon absolving him of his slip of the tongue. In honor of the lives he has helped saved, America should be able to forgive him for saying a naughty word.
